On October 7, 2019, the world’s leading networks of cities, regions, businesses, and other climate action stakeholders sent a letter to the COP25 President expressing support for COP25 as a “Time for Action.” They also noted that one legacy of the summit in Santiago could be to secure a future mandate for global climate action in the UNFCCC process after 2020, when current arrangements expire.
